Drama: THE LAST JOB

          One night, a boy named Walter walks at the quite street. Unfortunately, he is not watching his steps carefully. A car with high speed drive toward him and CRAASSHHHHH….

He falls lying in the street with a body covered in blood. Everybody around that street runs toward him.
People 1 : “Oh my God! What’s happen?” (try to see him)
People 2 : “Call ambulance!”
People 3 : “I’ll call 911!” (run away) 

           

But, out of expectation, someone rises from Walter’s body. It’s him, it’s Walter! He is rising from his body? His death body?

He gets up and feels confused. He tries to go out from the crowd.

He sees his body and he gets more and more confused. He tries to reach his body and suddenly, everybody around him gone not know where.
Walter : “Is that me?” (surprise) “Oh my God, NO!! What’s happen to me?! NO!! Wake up! You can’t die! Not now!”

Haze begins to appear and suddenly, a man with big white wings comes from the dark.
The Angel : “Hey..uhukkk…uhukkk…” (cough)
Walter : “Ahh!! Who are you?” (surprise)
The Angel : “I’m…uhukkk..uhukk…” (cough louder) (waving hand to call someone)

A beautiful lady comes and gives him a glass of water and then disappears.
The Angel : “Thank you, thank you!”
Walter : “Answer me, who are you?!”
The Angel : “Who am I? Who are you?” (walk closer to Walter)
Walter : “Who, who am I?” (stand up) “I can’t remember my name! Who am I?!”
The Angel : “I’ll tell you. Today you’re not supposed to die. But you’re careless, you idiot! You’re making my job too soon!”
Walter : “What do you mean? This is bullshit!”
The Angel : “You have the last job as a human, Walter.”
Walter : “Walter? Is that my name? Walter?”
The Angel : “Yes. Come on! Just follow me!”
Walter : “Wait, wait! I can’t follow you, I don’t believe you!”
The Angel : “No rejection!” (lead hand to Walter) (pull Walter towrds him)
Walter : “Ahh!” (approaching The Angel)

      The Angel leads him to a school where there is a girl who are being bullied by her friends.
The Angel : “It’s her. You must make her happy!”
Walter : “Which one?”
The Angel : “Her,” (walk closer to one of the girls)

At morning, Bethie just arrived at her classroom. A group of famous girls walk toward Bethie and bump her.
Julia : “Good morning, Freak!”
Jessie & Jane : “Good morning, haha!”
Jane : “Hey! Where is our homework?” (hit Bethie)
Bethie : “...”
Jane : “Answer me!”
Jessie : “You can’t hear her? You don’t have ear, huh?!”
Bethie : “I..I..I didn’t finish it yet.” (afraid)
Jane : “WHAT?! Oh my God! What the hell are you doing last night?! You’re so stupid!”
Jessie : “How dare you?!” (hit Bethie)
Julia : (squat) “I don’t care and I don’t want to know, it must be done today!”
Carrie : “Stop! Stop! Stop! What are you doing, guys! You’re not supposed to do something like this to her!” (suddenly come)
Jessie : “What are we doing? What are you doing, Carrie?! Don’t defend her!”
Julia : “Don’t act like a hero, Carrie! Better you leave her!”
Jane : “Come on, girls!”

3J (Jane Julia Jessie) sit on their chair. Bethie gets up with the help of Carrie. Alex and Edward, their class’s freind, just look at without help because it’s not uncommon for them.

Mam Pepita is coming but the class are still busy.
Students : (noisy)
Mam Pepita : “Ekhemm...” (mumbles)
Students : (still make some noise)
Mam Pepita : “Quite!"
Students : (quite)
Mam Pepita : “Good! There is an information for you all. Actually, we will have new friend. But, a bad thing happened to him.”
3J : “Huu....what a pity!” (pretending to cry)
Bethie : “Excuse me, Mam! Who is him?” (rise hand)
Edward : “Always..”
Alex : “Looking for attention!”
3J : “Oh, Freak!!”
Mam Pepita : “Okay, okay! Stop! Forget about it! The important thing is let’s pray for him!" “Now, open your book! Do exercise 3 page 5 till 12! Now!"
3J : “Huh...” (take a deep breath)
Alex : “It’s too much, Mam.”
Edward : “Come on, Mam!”
Mam Pepita : “No complaining! Do it now and I leave! Bye-bye!” (go out from the class)
Carrie : “That’s good, Bethie! You make a voice. Do more often!” (smile)
Bethie : (just smile)
Alex : “Here, do my homework!” (throw his book to Bethie)
Edward : “Finish it tomorrow!” (throw his book too) (then leave the class)
3J : “Do ours!” (throw their book too)
Julia : “Don’t you dare..”
Jessie : “To make another mistake..”
Jane : “Just like you did!”
Julia : “Got it?”
Bethie : “Yeah.”
Jessie : “Good!”
Jane : “Come on, girls!” (then go out form class)
Carrie : “Be patient, Bethie! I’ll always be with you. But I’m sorry, I can’t help you too much.”
Bethie : “Always, okay and thanks, Carrie.”

Again and again, Bethie goes home with so many homeworks. Not just hers but her friend’s homeworks too. She wants to do her homeworks but she feels so sleepy. Until she can’t hold it anymore and starts to sleep...

            In her sleep, she has a dream, bad dream. She dreams that 3J came to her and bullied her without mercy. She scared and afraid even in her sleep. She turns her head from left to right with a little voice that explained how scared she is.

            But suddenly, a stranger man comes into her dream. Who is him? Bethie has no idea. That man beats the table to break 3J. Then, he tries to reach Bethie but...
Bethie : “Ahh!” (wake up)

            Bethie gets up and gets surprised when she found out that it’s after 6 a.m. She quikly packs and goes to school in hurry.

When she comes in school, class is still empty. But she remembers that she didn’t do her friends homeworks. She begins to feel scared and worried about being scolded by her friends.

3J are coming and then directly come to Bethie.
Julia : “Hey, freak!”
Jane : “Where is our homework, huh?!”
Bethie : "..."
Jessie : “Answer her!”
Bethie : “Plea-please don’t be mad at me.”
Julia : “What do you mean?!”
Jane : “Oh, wait, wait! I know! Don’t you say that you didn’t make our homeworks again!”
Jessie : “Oh my God!”

    Alex, Edward, and Carrie come too.
Alex : “Woah, what’s happening here?”
Jane : “Your friend didn’t make our homework again!”
Edward : “What?!”
Alex : “Where is my book?!” (take his book and open it)
3J : (take their books and open it too)
Alex : “It’s done”
Edward : “So do I”
3J : “Yes, me too.”
Alex : “Good job!”

Bethie getting confused of what just happened. She really sure that’s she didn’t make their homeworks last night, but it’s done? How strange it is!

            Mam Pepita comes and start the class.
Mam Pepita : “Good morning, Children.”
Students : “Good morning, Mam.”
Mam Pepita : “Alright! Put your last task here!” (point the table)

           

            Every students put their homeworks on Mam Pepita’s table. But, Jessie accidentally hit Bethie.
Bethie : “Aukkh......” (fall down)
Jesise : “Upsss... Sorry” (pretending apologize)

Then she stands up again.
Mam Pepita : “Are you okay, Bethie?”
Bethie : “Yes, Mam.”

           

            Bethie backs to her desk.

Kringgggg.....

            Rest time is begining. Bethie take her foodbox and bottle. She wants to dispose her food’s plastic but....

Byurrrr....
Jane : “WHAT?!!! Oh my God! What are you doing?!” (really angry
Bethie : “I’m sorry, I’m sorry..” (scared)
Jane : “Arrrgghhhh, look what you’ve done to me!!” (shouted)
Jessie : “You so stupid!!”
Julia : “Oh my God, your uniform, Jane!”
Jane : “Oh no! I need to change it!”
Julia : “Okay, let’s go!”
Jessie : (hit Beathie) “Freak!”

Bethie cried, Walter coming up and whistling.
Walter : "Hey..."
Bethie : (shock) "Who are you?"
Walter : (smile, offers a handshake) "I'm Walter"
Bethie : "Bethie"

(Walter confused)
The Angel : "Make her happy"
Walter : "Why are you crying?"
Bethie : "No no, I'm not crying"
Walter : "I saw you"
Bethie : (keep her head down)
Walter : "Drink it!" (offer a softdrink)
Bethie : (take the softdrink) "Thank you, so you're the new student?  Which class?"
Walter : "Yes. As same with you"
Bethie : "Really? I didn't see you"
Walter : "But you see me now. Anyway, i have a new dance. Want to see?"

Walter start dancing, Bethie start laughing too. Then Carrie came.
Carrie : "Bethie, why are you laughing?"
Bethie : "Because of... " (confused) (Walter is gone)
Carrie : "Are you okay?"
Bethie : "Oh...  Yes"

Bethie leaves Carrie
Carrie : "What's happen with her? She’s so strange"

In the classroom, Bethie is there and sit on her desk. Suddenly Walter comes and sits down beside Bethie.
Walter : "Hey... "
Bethie : "Walter! Where are you from? Why suddenly go?"
Walter : "I went to the bathroom, hehe"

Mam Pepita is entering the class.
Mam Pepita : "Let's start the class! Open your book page 22"

After a while.
Mam Pepita : "Do exercise 12. I'll leave you. Make surewhen I've been back, this task

                must be done!"

Students begin to do...
Bethie : "Why don't you do?"
Walter : "It’s okay. I’ll do later."

When Bethie doing her task,  Walter is looking intens at her. And he is start singing ...

"A Thousand Years"

Bethie is getting confused and looking at Walter. Walter still singing while seeing Bethie. Suddenly, the students sing a song together until the song’s end.

When the time to go home, Bethie and Walter talk about something. The students suprised to see Bethie talked to herself.
3J : “Look at her! She looks getting weird and crazy”
Alex : “Yes, you're right”
Edward : “She’s really freak!”
Carrie : “Come on guys! Maybe she is calling someone. Be positive thinking!”
3J : “Ah, forget it!  Let's go home, Girls!”
Walter : "Bethie, do you know what is the first come between egg and chicken?"

Bethie : "Ehmm.. I know... that is Chicken"
Walter : "No..no... egg”
Bethie : “Of course no! It’s chicken.”
Walter : “Egg, Bethie!”
Bethie : “Chicken!”
Walter : “Egg!”
Bethie : "Chicken!"
Walter : "Egg!"
Bethie : “Chicken!”
Walter : “Chicken!”
Bethie : “Egg. Ups! No..no..chicken.”
Walter : “You said it, hahaha!”

Bethie laughing so glad.
Walter : "That's good, Bethie! You're beautifull when you laughing.That mean my job is done I’m gonna go."
Bethie : “Go? Where? What are you talking about?”
Walter : “No, I'm not talking about anything.”
Bethie : “Okay.”

Bethie goes home. She is very happy because she remembered about Walter. She smile never stop. Then she meet 3J, Alex and Edward.
Jane : “Guys, look! Is Bethie there, isn’t it?”
Julia : “ Yeah, it,s Bethie.”
Jessie : “Why she’s smiling alone like that?”
Alex : “I don’t know maybe she is getting happy"
Edward : “Let’s ask her what happen to her.”

Alex, Edward and 3J get closer to Bethie. Bethie is so surprised.
Jessie : “Hey, why you smiling, huh?
Bethie : “ Ehmm... I..I..."
Jane : (Try to hit her) “Hey.. What? What is happen to me?” (confused)
Edward : “Jane, why you can not hit her?”
Jessie : “I feel something wrong here.”
Julia : “Yes, me too.”
Bethie : “What are you talking about?”
Jane : (still confused) “It’s strange!”
Bethie : “Why? It’s Walter. You don’t see him?”
Jane : “Ahh! She’s crazy!”
Jessie : “She’s insane!”
Julia : “Yes, I think she’s completely lost her mind!”
Edward : “Leave her!”
Alex : “Come on, guys!”

They go because of scared to Bethie. Bethie getting confused why they don’t see Walter.

At Night, haze spreads. The Angel comes form the darkness.
The Angel : “Hey...uhuk..uhukk” (cough)
Walter : “Oh my God, you always surprised me!”
The Angel : ”This haze always makes me cough too. Uhuk..uhukk”
Walter : “You’re so funny. You’re an angel or comedian?”
The Angel : “Ekhm..ekhm ..Okay. Good job! You’ve done your job really well”
Walter : “Of course. Me!”
The Angel : “But you’re time is up. Let’s go home now!”
Walter : “Home?”
The Angel : “In heaven”
Walter : “Hmm... Okay. Hard to leaving this world. But, it’s okay. I can’t do anything more."
The Angel : “Okay let’s go!”

Bright appears.

Tomorrow, in the school.
Mam Pepita : “Good morning! Let’s start the class! Oh wait, wait. I forget to bring your exams. Someone can take that in my room table please?”
Students : “Bethie, Mam.”
Mam Pepita : “Okay, Bethie! Please take it fast!”

Bethie goes to teacher room. When she takes the exams, she pulling down a map. She takes it and open the first page. Then, she looks Walter’s registration form. And written dead on it.
Bethie : “So, whole time ......”
